Our story & company ethos
Oriens Capital Management AG is a family office company headquartered in Engelberg, Switzerland.
We specialize in asset management and executing long-term investments. Our focus lies on projects at early stages of development or those requiring restructuring.
With over 30 years of experience in implementing investment projects across Central and Eastern Europe, we have completed dozens of investments in various sectors. Our approach has been guided by the evolving needs of societies amidst economic transitions and the increasing disposable incomes of citizens in the region. Understanding these dynamics has been, and continues to be, a cornerstone of OCM’s success.
In the 1990s and 2000s, we were active in the automotive industry, where we established one of the largest authorized distribution networks for new VW Group cars in Poland – the Magro Group. This network sold tens of thousands of vehicles and employed several hundred people. During the real estate boom, we participated in numerous residential, hotel, and commercial projects in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, and Upper Silesia. Our commitment to the real estate sector remains steadfast.
In 2012, as increasing purchasing power enabled citizens to acquire luxury goods, we successfully introduced the Spanish jewelry brand Tous to the Polish, Slovak, Czech, and Romanian markets. We opened 60 proprietary boutiques in prime locations and created a centralized e-commerce platform for the region.
The following decade brought new opportunities driven by the energy transition, leading to our involvement in developing wind farms and cogeneration plants.
